Everton get their Premier League campaign underway on Saturday at home to Southampton.
Rafa Benitez will be aiming for three points in a bid to get his Blues reign off to the best possible start.
But when everyone is fit and available - what is the strongest starting XI available to the Spaniard?
Here is how our ECHO writers think the Blues would line up at full strength...
Phil Kirkbride:
James Rodriguez, last season, would have been a shoo-in to be named in Everton's strongest XI.
Indeed, when fit, he may have been among the first names on the team-sheet.
But coupled with the change of manager, his injury problems towards the end of last term and his underwhelming performances so far this summer, then Rodriguez is no longer a guarantee for this selection.
Demarai Gray has looked lively and promising since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen and, right now, has to be considered part of the strongest XI Benitez could field.
Andros Townsend, too, must be on that list to play in an attack with Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The remaining weeks of the transfer window will, hopefully, make this choice even more difficult as Everton strengthen in key areas, but for now, two of the new-boys have to be considered part of the Blues' strongest XI.
My strongest team: Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Godfrey, Digne, Allan, Doucoure, Townsend, Gray, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.
Connor O'Neill:
The back five pretty much picks itself, although the caveat is that should Everton fail to land a right-back this summer, Ben Godfrey may well end up featuring there throughout the campaign.
As things stand, with James Rodriguez still at the club, the midfield pretty much picks itself as well.
Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure are shoe-ins given how instrumental they were last season, while Rodriguez should be given the nod in front of them.
Granted his Everton future remains up in the air, but as things stand now, he is still an Everton player, and someone who can offer what no one else in the squad can.
While out wide, Richarlison should operate on the left, and new signing Demarai Gray on the right, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top.
My strongest team (4-4-1-1): Pickford, Coleman, Godfrey, Keane, Digne, Gray, Allan, Doucoure, Richarlison, Rodriguez, Calvert-Lewin.
Chris Beesley:
It remains to be seen what further ins and outs might take place at Goodison Park between now and the closing of the transfer window but in my eyes, at present, most of the strongest XI picks itself but there are three key areas of debate - at centre-back, in midfield and on the wing.
In the heart of defence, four players are vying for just two positions but from the quartet I'd pick England international pair Michael Keane and Ben Godfrey as the two most-consistent options.
When it comes to midfield, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure seem automatic picks but who joins them? For now (at least) it's James Rodriguez with Rafa Benitez's new wide options enabling him to adopt a more central role.
Richarlison occupies one of the wide attacking berths so it's a toss up as to who is on the other flank. Andros Townsend nicks it on experience but fellow summer recruit Demarai Gray has the potential to take that shirt.
My strongest team (4-3-3): Pickford; Coleman, Digne, Keane, Godfrey; Allan, Doucoure, James; Townsend, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.
Elliott Bretland:
Ben Godfrey is the future and will hopefully start playing at centre-back regularly alongside a new right-back.
Allan and Doucoure work hard off the ball and, while a better ball carrier is perhaps needed, they are Everton's best central midfielders right now and can aid James Rodriguez in a number ten role.
Andros Townsend and Richarlison can play either side of Dominic Calvert-Lewin while Demarai Gray should be fully utilised too.
My strongest team (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Coleman, Godfrey, Mina, Digne; Doucoure, Allan; James, Townsend, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin.
