Everton's Rodriguez to miss Burnley game, Doucoure out for up to 10 weeks

Everton playmaker James Rodriguez will miss Saturday's Premier League game at home to Burnley due to injury but could return after the international break, manager Carlo Ancelotti said.

Midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, however, could be out for eight to 10 weeks after suffering a small fracture in his foot, while Fabian Delph remains out with a tendon issue.

Rodriguez, who has five goals and four assists for Everton in the Premier League this season, has missed the last three league games.

"He had a problem on his calf, but in the game against Manchester United and Liverpool he became tight and was not able to train at his best," Ancelotti said on Friday.

"To avoid this, to give him the best situation, we prefer to keep him out for at least seven or 10 or 15 days.

"This is his goal, to have more consistency. I think the start of the season was really good but then he started to travel... our goal is to give him the possibility to improve his condition and play with consistency."

Yerry Mina and Seamus Coleman both returned to training and are in contention for Saturday's game, but Gylfi Sigurdsson is doubtful after sustaining an ankle injury in their 2-0 defeat by Chelsea on Monday.

Everton are sixth with 46 points after 27 games, while Burnley are 15th with 30 points after 28 games.
