Everton's Richarlison set for transfer tug-of-war between 2 continental giants

Brazilian star Richarlison is a wanted man this summer — with Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain both ready to step up their chase for the £70million-rated Everton striker.

And senior Goodison officials fear they could be in a battle to keep hold of the 22-year-old, who only joined them last July in a £40m move from Watford.

Richarlison has been a big success and heads into Sunday’s final game of the season away to Spurs having scored 14 goals in 38 Everton appearances. But it is understood he wants the promise of European football to continue his development and help him keep his place in Brazil's national team.

So far, missing out on European football has not impacted on his international career with Richarlison scoring three goals in his eight games for his country this season.

Richarlison is happy and settled at Everton and is popular in the dressing room.

But both Atletico and PSG can offer the pacy striker Champions League football next season, plus a serious improvement on his current wages of a reported £125,000-a-week.

Everton are not interested in selling their star asset, but that will not stop his Spanish and French suitors making their interest known.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone is assessing his striking options with Antoine Griezmann’s future once again up in the air and Barcelona still keen on the Frenchman.

Bad-boy Diego Costa could also be on the way out of the Spanish club after being hit with an eight-match ban last month. The former Chelsea striker, who is a target for Italy's Napoli, was sent off for insulting and man-handling referee Jesus Gil Manzano in a 2-0 defeat away to Barcelona.

Atletico are considering their next move on Alvaro Morata, the Spain international who has six goals in 14 appearances for them since joining on loan from Chelsea in January.

French champions PSG, meanwhile, have been alarmed by reports superstar Neymar has changed his mind about staying with them for another season — and have his countryman Richarlison high on their list of potential replacements.
