Everton's Premier League advantage over Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Wolves revealed

12 of Everton’s key players last season are in their prime or prospect years of their career.

Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are all under 24 and played at more than half of the Toffees’ game time in all competitions in 2018/19.

As such they could be considered the club’s hot prospects for the future.

Kurt Zouma, Andre Gomes, Jordan Pickford, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Michael Keane, Lucas Digne, Idrissa Gueye, Seamus Coleman, Bernard and Theo Walcott all played over 50% of minutes and are aged between 24 and 30, often believed to be a player’s peak years.

The rest of the squad either played fewer than half of the club’s minutes or are aged over 30. Marco Silva will also be expecting more from Yerry Mina, Mason Holgate and Ademola Lookman next season.

Elsewhere, seven of both Manchester United and Chelsea's squad from last term are 30 and above while Tottenham Hotspur have six stars over the threshold.

United do have Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay all under 24, but their spread of players between 24-30 suggests Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is searching for players he can trust to perform consistently at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have also lost Ander Herrera since the end of the campaign while Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and David De Gea - three of Solskjaer's biggest names - are tipped for a move away.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, meanwhile, placed a heavy reliance on Joao Moutinho and goalkeeper Rui Patricio last term as they pipped the Blues to Europa League football.

The duo are now both over 30 while only six of their stars in the key age bracket featured in more than 50% of minutes available.

Should Everton wrap up the signing of Gomes, they will boast nine in the prime of their careers next season.

THIS is the Everton transfer that hurt the most according to supporters - do you agree?

Just six of Chelsea's players aged 30 or below featured for more than half of the previous season following Eden Hazard's departure to Real Madrid and Arsenal's graph suggests genuine cause for concern at the Emirates.

Of the stars who are both aged between 24-30 and played more than 50% of minutes, only Bernd Leno, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have clear futures under Unai Emery.

With Silva's squad settled and several key members hitting their prime, Everton will be looking to take advantage and make a real challenge for European football next season.
