Everton's pre-season schedule - what we know so far about dates, opposition and squad

Everton are working on confirming the rest of their pre-season schedule.

The Blues are one of three Premier League clubs to have only rubber-stamped one summer friendly so far.

Everton will face Kariobangi Sharks at the Karasani Stadium in Nairobi on Sunday, July 7 with the kick-off time still to be finalised.

Norwich City and Watford are the other top flight clubs to only have one warm-up game in the diary so far but the Blues are working hard to confirm a full friendly fixture list for the summer.

When do the players return for pre-season training?

Marco Silva welcomes the Everton squad back to Finch Farm for the start of pre-season on Monday, July 1.

The Blues are then due to fly to Kenya at the end of the week for a short stay in Nairobi before returning to their Halewood training complex.

Everton could then go on an overseas training camp for the second week of pre-season - Austria was last summer's destination - but that remains to be confirmed.

Silva's side played seven friendlies last summer - ATV Irdning, Bury, Lille, Porto, Blackburn, Rennes and Valencia - and it is anticipated the club will arrange the same number of games this summer.

Which players will return on July 1?

Silva will not have the full list of players to work with in the opening week.

Everton's players in under-21s European Championships - Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jonjoe Kenny and Kieran Dowell - are not expected to return on July 1 with Richarlison and Yerry Mina, in Copa America action, will also be given extra time off.

Idrissa Gueye, Henry Onyekuru and Yannick Bolasie are due to play in the Africa Cup of Nations, which runs from June 21-July 19 and so will join up with the Everton squad later in the summer.

Cuco Martina, who expects to begin his pre-season schedule with the Blues, could be in CONCACAF Gold Cup action for Curacao while Antonee Robinson has been named in the USA's provisional squad for the tournament which runs until July 7.

The injured Cenk Tosun will report for the start of pre-season on July 1 but will do individual rehab work on his knee.

Tom Davies, nursing a shoulder issue, is also expected back at the beginning of the summer schedule but no timescale has been put on his return to full fitness.
