Everton's Moise Kean was all smiles as he put his recent troubles behind him with a two-goal blast for Italy's Under-21s against their counterparts from Armenia.
Kean was dropped from the Blues squad by manager Marco Silva for their last game before the international break – a 2-1 win at Southampton for the club's first away victory in the Premier League this season.
It transpired that the teenager had been axed for disciplinary reasons after turning up late for Everton team meetings on two occasions.
Despite being the youngest-ever player to score for Italy in a competitive match, Kean had also been omitted from national team coach Roberto Mancini's first international squad of the campaign for a similar misdemeanour during the UEFA European Under-21 Championship on home soil back in June.
A £27.5million summer recruit from Juventus, Kean has still yet to score for Everton, and has been linked with a potential return to Serie A over the past week.
However, following Italy U21 boss Paolo Nicolato describing the player's conduct as “perfect over the last few days” , Kean was rewarded with a brace in the 6-0 romp in the Sicilian city of Catania.
Kean – who played the entire game – fired Italy ahead after 15 minutes and then doubled his tally for the night with their third goal four minutes before half-time.
