Everton's Lucas Digne visibly upset after injury blow during France Euro 2020 clash

Lucas Digne was visibly upset as he was forced off during France's latest Euro 2020 game with injury.

The Everton full-back was a half-time substitute in tonight's game for France in Budapest but he lasted less than seven minutes before coming off.

Digne appeared to sustain a thigh problem with early fears that it could rule the 27-year-old out of the rest of the tournament.

The left-back's performances for Everton, since joining in 2018, had put him firmly back in the international picture after he missed out on selection for the last World Cup.

And the £18m man's anguished reaction as he walked off at the Puskas Arena spoke volumes for the frustration he felt after picking up the injury.

France will assess the extent of the problem and hope that Digne can still play a part in Euro 2020 but the initial worry was that a muscle injury of that type could mean he misses what is left of the tournament.
