Everton's last five fixtures compared with relegation rivals after Newcastle nightmare

Everton have serious work to do in their battle against Premier League relegation after being gunned down by Champions League-chasing Newcastle at Goodison Park on Thursday night.

Having slipped into the bottom three when Nottingham Forest overcame Brighton on Wednesday night, an instant response was needed from The Toffees in their ongoing fight against relegation. However, goals from Callum Wilson (2), Joelinton and Jacob Murphy sentenced them to another reverse.

Dwight McNeil grabbed a consolation for Everton. However, it was too little too late as they remain second bottom in the Premier League standings - with only five games to go.
