Everton's Allan message to fans about what he celebrates 'like scoring a goal'

New signing Allan says he celebrates an important tackle like he would scoring a goal - as he reveals his "desire to win absolutely every ball".

Carlo Ancelotti has told the Brazilian midfielder that will have the "fans on my side" because of his all-action and tough-tackling style of play.

Allan has vowed to meet the expectations of supporters and says they may see him celebrate winning a challenge,in a crucial moment of a game, as if he'd scored a goal.

"I've always been that way since I was a child. I've always been very competitive, wanting to win," the 29-year-old said.

"Everything we do in midfield and defence, a lot of the time it's like scoring a goal - winning a 50/50, a tackle,a one-on-one, or clearing the ball - in the game sometimes these things are very important.

"If it's quite a tight game, we celebrate that as if it's a goal. It's about dedication and giving everything on the pitch."

Allan, in an interview which can be read in the programme for Wednesday night's Carabao Cup tie with Salford City, has promised to give a "tremendous" amount of dedication to the Everton cause.

"In my style of football, I'm a very dedicated player, a team player who looks to help out their team-mates," he said.

"A strong part of my game is marking and the desire to win absolutely every ball.

"That is definitely a differential in my game and I believe, with my desire, I can put in really good performances to win the fans over.

"There will be a tremendous amount of dedication from me."

And speaking about connecting with Evertonians, Allan went onto say: "Carlo Ancelotti said undoubtedly I would love the city and the Club and that I would have the fans on my side as they really like players who are the type of player I am.

"I will do my maximum to get the fans on my side.

"I am really happy to know the supporters are excited and pleased with me coming to Everton.

"I received a lot of messages from Everton fans and that made me really happy and confident in the work I can do here.

"I will be dedicated and look to the fans to help me on the pitch. I will give my all to achieve great things in an Everton shirt."
