Everton remain on lockdown as players continue to self-isolate

Everton's Finch Farm training ground and office spaces around the city remain on lockdown.

And it is expected that it won't be until the end of the week, at the earliest, before the club have a clearer idea of when they could re-open.

It is understood that the Blues' training ground, the offices in the Royal Liver Building and at Goodison have undergone a deep clean in the past few days following Friday's announcement to shut them down.

The precautionary measures were taken after the club confirmed that an unnamed first-team player had reported symptoms consistent with coronavirus.

Players, management and staff have been told to self-isolate and work from home in the meantime.

The Premier League have suspended all matches until at least April 3 and will discuss potential next steps in a phone meeting of clubs on Thursday.
