Everton release first footage of Andre Gomes back in action in behind-closed-doors match

Everton have released the first footage of Andre Gomes back in action.

On Sunday, the midfielder took part in a behind-closed-doors match at Finch Farm involving members of both the first team squad and a select number of U23s.

The Portugal international completed the full 60 minutes of the 11-a-side match, with the Blues medical staff later confirming the 26-year-old had no issues following the game.

Gomes will now continue to train with the squad ahead of next weekend's trip to Arsenal, which could be his first match back since suffering a fracture dislocation of his ankle against Spurs at Goodison Park in November.

And Everton have now released the first footage of Gomes back in action at Finch Farm.

The midfielder was in high spirits before kick off and the highlights package typically shows off the passing range of the former Barcelona man - while the footage also shows him not afraid to get stuck in to challenges too!

Carlo Ancelotti will continue to assess Gomes over the coming week ahead of his side's trip to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
