Everton rank alongside Man City, PSG and Bayern Munich after Rafa Benitez changes

Everton have one of the best ratios for big chances created and conceded in Europe’s top five leagues.

The Blues trail only Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain when it comes to making opportunities in the final third and stopping them at the other end.

According to the boffins at InStat via the CIES Football Observatory Weekly Post , Everton have so far recorded a ratio of 2.33 with Rafa Benitez’s side creating an average of six big chances, defined as a clear-cut chance to score a goal, in their seven matches this season.

Conceding only 2.6 per game, the Toffees are restricting the opposition at a rate which is one of the best on the continent.

Man City have an overall ratio of 3.28, Bayern 2.96 and PSG 2.41. Everton at 2.33, are fourth in the standings ahead of Real Sociedad who are next with 2.29, Inter on 2.16 and Napoli at 2.15.

Premier League rivals Manchester United have a ratio of 1.77 while Tottenham's is just 0.73.

Everton have created plenty of openings this season with the summer signings of Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend thriving under Rafa Benitez, regularly getting crosses into the box.

Abdoulaye Doucoure too, has also been given a more advanced role and contributed to attacks, scoring twice and setting up four more goals.

The Blues found the net 13 times in their opening six matches, including a six-minute flurry of three goals against Burnley.

However, on Sunday, they went down 1-0 to West Ham, suffering their first defeat at Goodison Park this season.

Despite having 15 shots, without key attackers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison, just two were on target.

However, while losing to the Hammers saw Benitez’s side drop to eighth in the Premier League table, Everton’s big chance ratio is encouraging and they will hope to bounce back when they host Watford on Saturday.
