Everton's season ended with a whimper on Sunday as they suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat at the hands of champions Manchester City.
It meant a rather underwhelming 10th-placed finish for the Toffees, eight points off a top-four finish.
Everton's season was undoubtedly hampered by having the 15th-worst home record in the Premier League, with nine defeats and just six wins from their 19 matches at Goodison Park.
Home defeats to the likes of Newcastle United, Sheffield United and Fulham seriously dented any hopes the Toffees had of qualifying for Europe and Sunday's loss to the champions meant they go into the summer in a bit of a downbeat mood.
So what needs to change this summer? There were some undoubtedly positive signs of progress at times this season, but manager Carlo Ancelotti was clearly hampered by a lack of squad depth, with injuries to key players causing Everton to struggle at times.
It means another summer of strengthening looks set to be on the cards, with the hope that welcoming fans back to Goodison Park will go some way to improving the home form next season.
