Everton provide Yerry Mina injury update as Marco Silva clears up Morgan Schneiderlin omission

Everton remain confident Yerry Mina will play again before the end of the season.

The Blues defender injured his hamstring while on international duty with Colombia last month.

Everton had asked Colombia not to overload the 24-year-old across the break where they were due to play in two friendlies.

Mina joined up with his country having played against Chelsea - his first full 90 minutes in over three months - and played the full game against Japan.

Colombia made eight outfield changes for the friendly with South Korea four days later but Mina lasted only 42 minutes before being forced out with a hamstring problem.

Silva is refusing to put an exact timescale on Mina's return but is still hopeful the £27m man will be available again before the end of the campaign in early May.

"He keeps doing his recovery and normal therapy in this moment, let's see after next week," Silva said.

"It is possible I have more updates for you and can be more assertive to you but my feeling is that he will play before the end of the season."

Morgan Schneiderlin, meanwhile, is hoping to be available for the trip to relegated Fulham this weekend.

The French midfielder has missed the last two games with an ankle problem.

"He twisted his ankle in the Friday in the last sessions before the West Ham game," Silva said.

"He has a small issue in his ankle, he is recovering now but this week we will have him again."
