Kieran Dowell has joined Championship side Wigan Athletic on loan for the rest of the campaign after his temporary spell at Derby County was ended early.
Everton Academy graduate Dowell made 10 league appearances for the Rams having enjoyed a successful loan stint at Sheffield United last season, helping Chris Wilder's Blades win promotion to the Premier League.
The 22-year-old, however, had featured for just 15 minutes of County's last six Championship matches and was omitted from the squad for the win over Barnsley yesterday following the arrival of Wayne Rooney.
Dowell has made five senior appearances for Everton. He made his first-team debut in December 2014 when coming on a substitute in the Europa League clash against FC Krasnodar.
He has also enjoyed a loan spell with Nottingham Forest.
Wigan are currently in the relegation zone in the Championship but did win their opening game of 2020 at Birmingham City.
