Everton pre-season return date confirmed with early coronavirus check

The Everton squad will return to Finch Farm next Friday to be tested for coronavirus before beginning pre-season training on Sunday.

David Unsworth and his under-23 contingent - including new signing Niels Nkounkou as well as Yannick Bolasie - have been working at the facility in Halewood since Monday and are set to be joined by the first-team.

Carlo Ancelotti is taking charge of his first pre-season as Everton manager and will meet a number of faces for the first time as players who were sent out on loan last term return to Merseyside to prepare for the new campaign.

The squad that lost to Bournemouth on the final day of the Premier League season will have spent less than three weeks away from Finch Farm and club officials have warned of entry requirements on returning to the UK if they chose to holiday abroad.

The new league campaign is due to get underway on September 12th.
