Everton ponder Djibril Sidibe decision amid uncertainty over transfer market

Everton are still to make a decision on whether to sign Djibril Sidibe on a permanent basis from AS Monaco.

The Blues have an option to buy the 27-year-old as part the deal which has brought the full-back to Goodison on a season-long loan.

Everton are still weighing up the £12.7m transfer with the ECHO understanding that a decision over Sidibe had hinged on the club's plans for Jonjoe Kenny, who is currently out on loan with Schalke.

The Bundesliga side, who could return to action behind-closed doors in the second-half of this month, have said they would like to secure Kenny on another loan next season, fearing they could not afford to buy the right-back.

It has been reported that the Blues have until June 1 to trigger the clause in Sidibe's loan deal, in order to buy him at the agreed price, but it remains unclear if the terms of the contract will change if the Premier League campaign resumes.

Everton have nine games left to play and FIFA have recommended that all contracts be extended, beyond June 30 and until all seasons are completed.

The Blues, who had been making progress on a deal to sign Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes prior to the suspension of games, are not in detailed discussion with any club over potential signings, at the moment.

Everton are waiting for clarity over the resumption of the Premier League season and the transfer window before pressing ahead with their recruitment plans.
