Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is set to join Everton after the two clubs agreed a fee for the Frenchman.

Everton will part with an initial fee of around £20million for the 27-year-old, but that could rise to closer to £25m due to add-ons.

The Toffees are long-term admirers of Doucoure and that has helped their pursuit of him this summer.

The midfielder was not short of interest, with Ligue 1 side Monaco the latest to enquire about his service.

Doucoure, however, has always been keen to stay in the Premier League and is now set to join Everton.

The Frenchman is expected to sign a four-year deal with the Toffees and personal terms have already been provisionally agreed.

Fulham and Wolves had also shown an interest in Doucoure, but neither firmed up their approach to the extent of Everton.

The 27-year-old now needs to undergo a medical before moving to Goodison Park.
