Everton player Yannick Bolasie slams 'rat' for racist message on Instagram

Everton FC player Yannick Bolasie has Tweeted a screenshot of vile racist abuse he received on Instagram.

The player, who is currently on loan to Middlesborough, named and shamed the racist troll by uploading the offending post to Twitter this afternoon.

The forward then accused the poster of not having the guts to say it to his face.

In a Tweet at 3.37pm the player uploaded a screenshot showing an Instagram account name, with a photograph and a message.

The person behind the account appeared to have sent a private message on Instagram to Bolasie which said: "N*****".

Accompanying the Tweet, Bolasie posted: "Something seriously wrong with people...Keyboard warriors. Rat [rat emoji]. Still yet to meet a person who had this energy when they saw me."

Responding to the racist abuse, hundreds of Twitter users came together to condemn the disgusting comment.

Jack @LFCJack_96 posted: "No point lowering yourself to that mate, they're not worth it."

The Toffee Blues @EvertonNewsFeed said: "The year is 2021 and these people still exist, disgusting mate. No doubt will now get in serious trouble. Head up and don’t let these people bring you down."

DHarpz @harpz_d commented: "The only way to stop this type of abuse, is to do what you’ve done here, screen shot it, show the world.. hopefully their employer/family will see it... like you said... They don’t seem to have the same energy face to face..."
