Everton player ratings vs Watford - Jordan Pickford brave and Bernard brilliant

Jordan Pickford - 8

Wasn't asked to do much in the first half, but produced a fine save when it mattered to stop a fierce drive from Capoue. After the break, his bravery was on full display as he brilliant stopped Troy Deeney one-on-one with his face.

Seamus Coleman - 7

Was put under a lot of pressure by Watford as they grew into the match but dealt with it all relatively well. Coleman was later forced to move over to left back after the injury to Digne, which is never easy, but he confidently filled the gap.

Michael Keane - 7

A performance that we have all come to expect from Keane at this point. The centre-back was not only physically imposing, but also confident on the ball as the visitors struggled to break through Everton's back line.

Yerry Mina - 7

The Colombian international certainly looks to be benefiting from a more consistent run of games. A couple of erratic decisions aside, this was a confident display as he seems to be maturing to a Premier League level.

Lucas Digne - 7

Played an incredible pass to set Bernard away for the opening goal in the first half, and was solid in defence throughout before unfortunately picking up an injury in the second period. The Blues will have to hope his issue is nothing serious.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin - 7

Looked much more comfortable in this match than he did when called upon against Crystal Palace. The first half especially saw Gbamin show off his talents in that holding role, but there is clearly still more to come from the 23-year-old.

Andre Gomes - 7

Perhaps a surprise inclusion before the game, Gomes showed exactly why he is so important to Everton with his fantastic range of passing in the first half. He looked a little more quiet in the second as Watford gained the upper hand.

Gylfi Sigurdsson - 6

Sigurdsson never really managed to get a foothold on the game as he might have wanted, with much of Everton's play coming down the flanks rather than through the middle.

Richarlison - 7

His pace, strength and skill were a constant threat to Watford – even in the second half when the Blues were restricted to counter attacks mainly. Richarlison had a couple of good chances to score, however, and will be disappointed to have not taken any.

Bernard - 8

This was a great performance from the winger. He took his goal brilliantly in the first half with a level of confidence Everton fans will love to see, and he looked a threat whenever picking the ball up on the left flank.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin - 6

Didn't really pick up much service throughout the match and, while he did hold the ball up well in stages, he wasn't able to fashion any clear-cut chances for himself.

SUBS

Theo Walcott - 5

Didn't get on the ball enough to really make an impact after being introduced in the second half.

Moise Kean - 6

Almost scored on a couple of occasions and looked pretty sharp when coming off the bench.

Mason Holgate - 6

Won't have expected to come on at right back, but stepped up to the task well to help the Blues keep a clean sheet.
