Everton player ratings vs Liverpool as Jordan Pickford stands out in dramatic derby

Jordan Pickford - 8

Lucky that Virgil van Dijk was offside before wiping him out early on, but the goalkeeper produced a fantastic save to deny Trent Alexander-Arnold from a free kick in the first half before another brilliant stop from Joel Matip in the second period.

Seamus Coleman - 5

Caught out far too easily by Andy Robertson in the build-up to the opening goal and has struggled with the danger of Sadio Mane throughout the half until he went off injured.

Michael Keane - 8

Solid in defence again and was on hand to head home James Rodriguez's corner to bring his side level at an important stage of the match. Little the centre-back could do about either of Liverpool's goals.

Yerry Mina - 6

Alert to a number of dangerous Liverpool attacks throughout the first half and constantly was shouting to try and organise his side at the back, but his attempted clearance was the one which fell perfectly for Salah to convert.

Lucas Digne - 8

Another fantastic display from the Frenchman. Dealt well with the threat of Mohamed Salah for the most part and whipped some extremely dangerous crosses into the Liverpool box, resulting in Dominic Calvert-Lewin's towering header on one occasion.

Allan - 6

Just a little off the pace on his return to action but has still made a number of important interceptions in the middle. The second half saw him get on the ball a little more and look back to his normal self.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 6

Didn't make much of an impact with Liverpool dominating the majority of possession and restricting the flow to Everton's midfield until a surging run towards the end of the first half. A more difficult afternoon in general for the Frenchman.

Andre Gomes - 5

Similarly to his counterparts in that area of the pitch, Gomes just looked half a yard behind the game, and nearly got caught out on the edge of the box at one stage in particular in the first period. Not his best appearance for the Blues

James Rodriguez - 7

Didn't pick up possession many times throughout the game but looked dangerous whenever he did. His perfect corner into the area was headed home by Keane in the first half and his delivery into the box was regularly brilliant.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin - 7

Had a five-minute spell in particular in the first half in which he caused Joe Gomez a lot of trouble, which led to a rasping shot which Adrian had to deal with. But his clear opportunity finally came in the second period, and he made absolutely no mistake with a great header.

Richarlison - 4

Couldn't get himself involved in the game enough in an attacking sense throughout and then put in a dreadful tackle on Thiago late in the game to earn a red card. Everton will miss him for their next game.

SUBS

Ben Godfrey - 7

Called into action very early to block a goal-bound shot from Salah and make a great run to set up a Richarlison chance. He was thrown into the deep end for his debut and stood up to the task very well

Gylfi Sigurdsson - 6

Injected some energy and fresh legs into the midfield in the closing stages of the game.

Alex Iwobi - 6

Certainly put himself about when introduced. He could well step up for Richarlison next time out.
