Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and Alisher Usmanov rise in Rich List rankings

Farhad Moshiri's wealth has increased by £300m to see him climb the Sunday Times Rich List.

And Alisher Usmanov, whose ties with Everton have strengthened over the past 12 months, is now said to be the seventh richest person in Britain.

Moshiri was 98th in the annual list last year but with a fortune said to be at £1.88bn, he has shot up to 79th in the standings.

But Usmanov, whose USM Holdings company have struck a £30m naming rights option deal with the Blues for their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, is now believed to be worth £11.68bn.

It sees the Uzbek billionaire move up one place from eighth in the Rich List.

In the 12 months since Moshiri moved inside the top 100 wealthiest people in Britain, he increased his stake in Everton to 77.2%.

A year ago, Everton's majority shareholder had increased his wealth by £190m but this year's increase is even bigger.

Usmanov's USM company also expanded their initial sponsorship deal with the club to add training shirt sleeve and matchday deals to their naming rights agreement for Finch Farm, the club's training ground.
