Everton new stadium contractor donate vital equipment to Liverpool hospitals

Everton's new stadium contractors have today made a donation of vital equipment to hospitals in Liverpool.

Laing O'Rourke, who will lead the build of the Blues' 52,888 home should planning approval be granted, have given essential protective clothing to the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as they battle the coronavirus in the city.

The contractor has donated 1,500 coveralls, 7,000 gloves, 240 items of eye protection and 400 masks.

And a Laing O’Rourke spokesperson told the ECHO: “We owe an incredible amount to the NHS – working to keep us safe.

"Our project teams feel humbled that they have been able to support the national effort by sourcing and donating PPE for health workers.”

Everton appointed Laing O'Rourke as the contractors to build a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in February and have been in discussions with the club in recent weeks as they look to finalise a construction timetable.

The Blues hopes to have a decision from Liverpool City Council's planning committee by the summer.
