Everton are on the hunt for their new manager after the sudden departure of Carlo Ancelotti.

The now-former Blues boss left for Real Madrid in sudden circumstances at the start of this month, and now the club are looking for his replacement.

Whoever takes over will be looking to improve on Everton’s 10th place finish in the Premier League.

Here is our daily round-up of the latest pieces of gossip flying around over who could become the new Blues manager.

Nuno deal ‘close’

Everton are close to appointing Nuno Espirito Santo the vacant manager’s position.

The former Wolves boss will continue talks with Everton this weekend.

Nuno had been close to moving to Crystal Palace before the move fell through earlier this week.

Santo was believed to be close to being named as Roy Hodgson’s successor at Selhurst Park, but the deal fell through at the eleventh hour.

Garcia interest

According to L’Equipe , former Lyon boss Rudi Garcia is on Everton’s shortlist as a possible option to succeed Ancelotti.

The French news outlet claim that Garcia is is on a list of possible replacements for Ancelotti, but add that talks are not an advanced staged,

Garcia was last in charge of Ligue 1 club Lyon, who he left last month after 19 months in charge during which time he guided the club to a Champions League semi-final.

Pellegrini a contender

According to the Daily Mail, former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is a possible contender to be the next Everton manager.

The report states that Pellegrini, who is currently in charge of Real Betis, is under consideration by the Everton hierarchy as a possible successor to Ancelotti.

Pellegrini has been at Real Betis since last year, after leaving West Ham the year before.
