Abdoulaye Doucoure makes admission after sealing Toffees switch

Everton’s latest signing Abdoulaye Doucoure has admitted he’s been waiting for a long time to join the club, having finally sealed the switch from Watford on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Frenchman has been a key player for the Hornets over the past four seasons and arrives on Merseyside with the experience of over 100 Premier League appearances.

"I have been waiting a long time to come here and now it has happened so I am very happy," Doucoure said following the announcement.

"I had some interest from other clubs but from the beginning when Everton showed an interest in me I told my agent to focus on Everton.

"It was the only club I wanted to join.

"Everton has a big history in English football and it is a good club for me to have a step up in my career.

"I am very happy now to be an Everton player and very excited for the future."

Everton’s transfer stance on Fikayo Tomori

After a busy summer at Goodison, reports suggest that Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori will be the next player through the door, on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Stamford Bridge last term, having impressed working under Frank Lampard the season before at Derby.

He made 22 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions and was rewarded with a first England cap last November.

Everton are indeed considering a move for the centre-half, but at present he’s part of a shortlist of potential defensive targets drawn up by the Blues.

Kia Joorabchian on what James Rodriguez deal means for Everton

High-profile super-agent Kia Joorabchian has given his response to James Rogriguez’s move to Goodison Park after playing a role in the transfer.

He believes that the Colombian is a statement signing for the Toffees, and cited Carlo Ancelotti’s status in the game as a key reason for their ability to pull it off.

“James is a world superstar,” Joorabchian told talkSPORT .

“He has 47m followers on Instagram and has played for the best teams in the world in Bayern and Real Madrid.

“The ‘Ancelotti factor’ played a big part in the deal. Everton now have a very big and important manager who has won everything and knows how to win.”
