Everton morning headlines as Patrick Vieira 'interested' in Everton star

Good morning, Everton fans. Here are your morning headlines for Wednesday, June 17.

Ancelotti confirms Gomes fitness boost

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has been handed a huge boost ahead this weekend’s Merseyside derby, with Andre Gomes passed fit to play.

The Portuguese international missed the Toffees' intra-squad friendly at Goodison Park last week with a minor injury.

However, he looks set to start against Jurgen Klopp’s side as the Blues return to Premier League action for the first time in three months.

The Italian also stated Yerry Mina and Fabian Delph will undergo fitness tests later this week but winger Theo Walcott will miss out after undergoing abdominal surgery at the start of the month.

Blues linked with Schick move

Everton could make a summer move for Czech Republic striker Patrik Schick, according to reports from Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 24-year old has spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig from Roma but despite netting 10 league goals in 20 appearances, the German giants have opted not to activate their purchase clause.

This has reignited speculation of a move to the Premier League with Paulo Fonseca’s side reportedly open to offers of £15 million.

Tottenham and Newcastle are also rumoured to be tracking Schick, with Everton only likely to enter the race if they can sell Moise Kean ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Vieira interested in Blues star

Ligue 1 side Nice are considering an offer for Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to boss Patrick Vieira.

The former French international namechecked the ex-Manchester United star as a potential solution to their midfield issues ahead of the 2020/21 season.

“We are going to need talent but also character to help our young players to progress,” stated the former Arsenal man.

“Schneiderlin has a very interesting profile for us.”

The 30-year-old has started just 12 Premier League games this season, and he has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland this summer.
