Here are the Everton morning headlines for Thursday, September 3.
Everton fans react to Doucoure news
It’s no secret that Carlo Ancelotti has been looking to improve his midfield options this summer, and Everton are on the verge of making some significant signings in this area.
The Blues are close to completing the transfer of Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford, following the Hornets’ relegation, for a fee believed to be in the region of £20million.
Everton fans have been reacting to the news on social media and appear to be very impressed with the potential signing.
“Marcel Brands is doing phenomenal business coupled with the brand power of Ancelotti. Dream team in the front office” was one such tweet, and we’ve rounded up a selection of the best comments.
United goalkeeper heading to Everton?
Dean Henderson has enjoyed an excellent two-year spell with Sheffield United. The Blades were promoted from the Championship during his first season, then finished ninth in the Premier League in his second campaign.
Henderson has returned to his parent club Manchester United to fight it out with David de Gea to become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first choice goalkeeper.
This leaves Sergio Romero as the odd man out, and rumour has it that the Argentine could be on his way to Goodison Park to provide competition to Jordan Pickford.
Everton interested in Barcelona midfielder - report
Former Everton manager Ronald Koeman has recently been appointed as boss of Barcelona, and he looks set to shake the club up as they look to recover from their embarrassing 8-2 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.
One man who could be heading for the exit door is Rafinha. This news isn’t as surprising as Lionel Messi potentially leaving the club, as the Brazilian spent last season on loan at Celta Vigo.
According to sportwitness , Everton are among the clubs keen on signing the 27-year-old, though they will face stiff competition from Arsenal and West Ham United if the story is to be believed.
Rafinha is said to be available for around £14m.
