Everton morning headlines as Carlo Ancelotti faces Alex Iwobi decision and Goodison Park ticket plan

Here are your Everton morning headlines for Tuesday, 24 November.

Ancelotti faces key Iwobi decision

Alex Iwobi enjoyed arguably his best game in an Everton shirt on Sunday during the 3-2 win at Fulham.

The Nigerian thrived in a right wing-back role in a new-look 3-4-3 formation, and the Echo highlights how boss Carlo Ancelotti now faces a formation dilemma.

Seamus Coleman is set to return from injury, but Ancelotti might be tempted to stick with the side that beat Fulham at the weekend.

Iwobi has found life difficult at Goodison Park since his 2019 switch from Arsenal, but this new-look tactical setup may provide him with a role in which he can thrive.

Ancelotti must now decide whether to stick or twist when it comes to the 3-4-3.

How Everton can exploit James talents

Former Blues defender Michael Ball has told the Echo how Everton can best harness James Rodriguez’s talent.

Former left-back Ball has explained how the Colombian drifted inside during Sunday’s win at Fulham, taking defenders with him and creating space for Iwobi to overlap on the right wing.

Ball added that the opposition’s focus on Rodriguez can work in Everton’s favour, with the Colombian’s team-mates afforded more time and space as a consequence.

Rodriguez was not signed for his defensive contributions, so Everton should focus on getting the best out of him in attack.

Everton plan for fan return

Everton have a "fair and equitable" ticket ballot planned should Goodison Park be allowed reopen to supporters, the Echo report.

The club sent an email to fans in September outlining their ballot system which would be in place whenever fans were permitted to return to the stadium.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed a tiered approach for reintroducing fans on Monday, although it remains unclear when supporters will be allowed back at Goodison Park as the system depends on which tier the Merseyside area is in.

Any club based in Tier 3 (highest risk) of the lockdown system in England will not be allowed to have fans return to the stadium when restrictions ease on Wednesday, December 2.

Clubs in Tier 2 will have up to 2,000 fans - or 50 percent capacity - allowed while those in Tier 1 will be allowed up to 4,000 in attendance.
