Everton morning headlines as Ancelotti changes transfer policy and Sigurdsson question

Here are your Everton morning headlines for Friday, 6 November.

Ancelotti influence on transfer policy

Real Madrid playmaker Isco has been linked with a move to Everton , which highlights the role Carlo Ancelotti now plays in recruitment.

Everton have already signed an out-of-favour player from Madrid, with James Rodriguez arriving in the summer.

As highlighted by the ECHO , Ancelotti remains coy on the possibility of pursuing Isco, just as he did with James - although he is keen to secure a deal for the player.

It would be another significant move for the Blues as they look to raise the profile and quality of their first-team squad, with the Italian playing a vital role in reshaping it.

Long-term additions like Ben Godfrey make sense too, and Everton fans can be excited by the direction of travel.

Blues must make Sigurdsson decision

Everton have a number of selection dilemmas ahead of this weekend’s Premier League encounter with Manchester United, as highlighted by the ECHO .

Gylfi Sigurdsson was played out of position on the right flank in the underwhelming loss at Newcastle on Sunday, but could now drop out with Rodriguez’s likely return.

Sigurdsson is more natural in a central role but it is tricky to see how he fits into the current system, unless further personnel changes are made.

Jordan Pickford is in contention for a starting spot ahead of Robin Olsen, while Lucas Digne is back from suspension.

Everton hope on new stadium site

Everton have taken another step towards beginning early work on a new stadium by submitting additional planning permission to Liverpool City Council's planning department.

The information is reported by the ECHO , with the club hopeful of getting the green light on planning permission for a new 52,888-capacity ground at Bramley-Moore Dock.

There is also a separate submission to the local authority which seeks permission to undertake remediation works on the riverside site, the report adds.

These have been kept apart as work could begin on the latter while the club await an answer from local and central government on their main planning application.
