Everton miss out on cash boost as Antonee Robinson's AC Milan transfer falls through

Everton have missed out on a potential sell on fee for youngster Antonee Robinson after his proposed switch to AC Milan fell through on Friday evening.

The Italian giants had agreed a fee with Wigan for the left-back worth an initial £6m, which could rise to a £10m move with add-ons.

However, the Latics confirmed on Friday that the USA international would be staying at the DW Stadium after the proposed transfer could not be completed.

After leaving the Blues in the summer to make the move to Wigan, Everton inserted a sell-on fee in the contract which unconfirmed reports believe to be around 20 per cent.

The Latics released a statement on Friday which read: "The USA international underwent a medical examination with AC Milan, though further medical tests with the Italian authorities were required, which were subject to a 72-hour deadline.

"As such, the deal could not be formally ratified before the 8pm Italian Transfer Deadline on Friday."

Robinson left the Blues in the summer having been with the academy since the age of 11, having spent two loan spells with Bolton Wanderers and Wigan.
