Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic seals Premier League loan switch on transfer deadline day

Everton have confirmed that Muhamed Besic has sealed a season-long loan move to Sheffield United on transfer deadline day.

The midfielder spent the second half of the 2017/18 campaign with Middlesbrough on a temporary basis, before returning to the Riverside for the entirety of last term.

Sheffield United submitted their interest in the Bosnian international late on Thursday and were able to put a deal sheet in with the FA before the 5pm deadline struck.

The Bramall Lane club are competing in the Premier League for the first time in 12 years.

Everton signed Besic from Hungarian side Ferencvaros in the summer of 2014 after he represented his country in the World Cup finals.

The 26-year-old has played 56 times for the Blues in the following years, but hasn't scored a competitive goal for the club.
