Everton midfielder Andre Gomes shares touching coronavirus message

Everton midfielder Andre Gomes has sent his best wishes to people suffering from coronavirus and the 'heroes' fighting against the pandemic.

The European Championships, due to be held this summer, have today been postponed until next year due to coronavirus while a working group has been organised to examine possibilities for this season’s UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

Announcements are set to be made in due course.

Writing on Twitter, Gomes said: "We’re in a delicate situation and I want to send my best wishes to those who are trying to recover and to the heroes that are helping the population.

"It’s one of the most important fights in our lives.

"Stay strong and be responsible. We fight together!"

Everton are currently scheduled to return to Premier League action against Leicester City on April 6.
