Everton midfielder Allan earns Brazil call up following Fabinho injury

Everton midfielder Allan will join up with the Brazil squad on the next international break following news of an injury to Liverpool star Fabinho.

International coach Tite originally made his selection without the Blues summer signing, but with Richarlison retaining his place in the squad.

However, the 29-year-old will now be called up after Fabinho was forced to drop out following sustaining an injury in his side's Champions League win over FC Midtjylland in midweek.

Allan, who has previously appeared for his country eight times, will now be available for their fixtures against Venezuela and Uruguay next month.

The Everton man made his debut for the Brazil national team in 2018 and was part of the squad that won the Copa America in 2019, alongside future teammate Richarlison.

The Blues star has been in great form since his arrival from Napoli in the summer, becoming the first in a trio of quickfire signings in the window alongside James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Allan has already made six appearances for Everton in all competitions, helping them to four wins in that spell.
