Everton midfield prospect ruled out for rest of season with surgery required

Everton under-23s midfielder Einar Iversen is to have surgery on his knee.

Iversen limped out of the Blues' game with Arsenal in Southport last weekend after just 25 minutes and tests confirmed he had suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The 19-year-old joined Everton in the summer of 2017 and would sign a first professional contract two years later.

Iversen has become a regular fixture in David Unsworth's u-23s side but will not play again until next season.

The Norway u-21 international has made 19 appearances in Premier League 2 this season with two goals and as many assists to his name.

Iversen is under contract at Goodison until next summer.
