Everton make clear their transfer stance on Jonjoe Kenny amid Burnley interest

Everton are pricing Burnley out of a move for Jonjoe Kenny - but the Clarets will return in the summer.

Burnley are not willing to pay Everton ’s £10million asking price for Kenny and want to take him on loan with a view to signing him permanently in the summer.

The Blues would prefer a straight cash deal during this transfer window and the Clarets will return in the summer when Kenny will have just one year left on his contract at Goodison Park.

Burnley feel Everton may be more willing to do business in the summer rather than lose Kenny on a Bosman in June 2022.

Phil Bardsley is set to leave Turf Moor when his contract expires in June and Clarets boss Sean Dyche has identified Kenny as his replacement to challenge Matt Lowton.

Kenny, 23, is not part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans and he has made just one Premier League start this season.

The former England Under-21 international spent last season on loan at Schalke and knows he needs to leave Goodison to revive his career.

Burnley have also hit an impasse in their bid to sign Republic of Ireland Under-21 defender Nathan Collins from Stoke.

Stoke have laughed off Burnley’s offer of £3.5milion, rising to £5million, and value the highly-rated teenager at £10million.
