Everton make Antonee Robinson transfer decision as Wigan Athletic renew interest

Antonee Robinson is on the brink of leaving Everton.

The 21-year-old left-back is close to completing a permanent switch to Wigan Athletic.

Robinson spent last season on loan at the Championship club and is now moving in on a return to the DW Stadium.

The defender was part of the first-team squad that travelled to Kenya last weekend but was not included in the group which flew to Switzerland on Thursday.

A Premier League 2 title winner with the club's under-23s, Robinson has been unable to force his way into Marco Silva's plans and with Leighton Baines signing a new one year contract, the young defender found himself down the pecking order at Goodison.

Man City's Fabian Delph, whom Everton are closing in on, could also provide cover in that position should Lucas Digne and Baines be unavailable.

Everton are set to pocket a fee of £2m but that has yet to be confirmed.
