Everton have made a bid of £5million for Rangers youngster Nathan Patterson, according to a report.
The right back has impressed in his early days at Ibrox but remains as back-up to club captain James Tavernier.
And now Everton are hoping to take him to Goodison Park and have launched a £5m bid to sign him with Rafael Benitez looking for strength in depth at right back.
He currently has Seamus Coleman as his main right back but wants to bring in support for the veteran defender who has had injury issues in recent seasons.
And the Daily Mirror report Everton are ‘pushing hard’ to get the teenager in during this window.
They believe he can become their first choice right back for a long time but Rangers will hope to keep hold of him.
The boyhood Rangers fan has two caps for Scotland and is tipped to have a big future for club and country with Steven Gerrard a huge fan.
Patterson has made 17 appearances for Rangers and scored two goals, with the first of those coming just 16 seconds after coming off the bench in a Europa League clash with Royal Antwerp.
He's made just one appearance so far this season, in the 5-0 win over Dunfermline in the Premier Sports Cup.
