Everton have agreed to sign the Manchester United striker Louis Saha. The Frenchman is set to sign a two-year deal — with the option for a third year — for an undisclosed fee, with the move subject to a medical.
Saha has scored 42 goals in his 124 appearances for United, and has won 18 French caps, scoring four times. He will become Everton's third summer signing, joining new arrivals Lars Jacobsen and Segundo Castillo at Goodison.
Saha moved to Old Trafford for nearly £13m in January 2004 after a prolific three and a half years at Fulham, but his time with the Premier League champions has been blighted by a series of injuries.
The Everton manager David Moyes, meanwhile, has admitted that the club are also interested in securing a loan deal for the Internazionale winger Victor Obinna. The Nigerian moved from Chievo to Inter earlier this week, but new manager Jose Mourinho is understood to want Obinna to gain initial experience elsewhere.
"We are hoping to tie up Obinna from Inter on loan for a season," confirmed Moyes. "He can play wide on both sides, he's got good pace and has played up front at times. We watched him at the Olympics and we can have a look at him [if he comes]."
