On loan Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite's season could be over after the 18-year-old suffered a suspected ligament injury in training.
Branthwaite has made ten Championship appearances for Blackburn since joining on loan until the end of the season in January.
But an injury suffered in training ahead of Rovers’ trip to Sheffield Wednesday could mean a premature end to the youngster's season.
Providing an update on the teenager’s injury, Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray has revealed that the defender rolled his ankle in training and suspects he has damaged his ligament.
"Jarrad has quite a bad one," said Mowbray.
"He’s rolled his ankle pretty badly in training and I don’t think we’ll be seeing him again, this season.
"I anticipate its ligament damage, but I haven’t been given a full report on it."
Branthwaite made four first team appearances last season for Everton, and started a Carabao Cup tie this season against Salford before having to come off injured after only 24 minutes.
