Everton lineups as Lucas Digne decision made and Andre Gomes starts at Crystal Palace

Adam Jones - Mason Holgate starts

As much as I would personally like to see a 4-3-3 utilised by Everton from the start here, I can't see it happening quite yet.

The Blues do look most comfortable in that setup as evidenced further by the comeback over Arsenal, but there's a few drawbacks.

One being that Rafa Benitez doesn't really prefer it, the other being that Andre Gomes won't be up to full match fitness yet.

Hopefully he can reach that level soon if his display earlier in the week is anything to go by.

Anyway, because of that, the only change I can see for this afternoon is Mason Holgate replacing the injured Yerry Mina in defence.

Lucas Digne does not seem to be in favour to say the least right now, which means the club is still without a recognised left back.

You wonder how long they can possibly keep that up. Even if he was out-of-form, leaving him out of the squad entirely is very questionable.

My team (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Holgate, Godfrey; Doucoure, Allan; Gray, Townsend, Gordon; Richarlison.

Connor O’Neill - Andre Gomes returns

Another game, another selection dilemma for Rafa Benitez as his side aim to continue where they left off against Arsenal on Monday night.

Jordan Pickford will no doubt start in goal, with Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey making up the back four.

In midfield, Andre Gomes should start alongside Allan after his impressive display off the bench against the Gunners at Goodison Park.

Abdoulaye Doucoure should start in front of them, with Anthony Gordon on one wing, Demarai Gray on the other, and Richarlison up top.

My team (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Holgate, Godfrey; Allan, Gomes; Gordon, Doucoure, Gray; Richarlison.

Sam Carroll - Lucas Digne back in

A blast from the past.

Andre Gomes was the player who first arrived at Everton during his second-half substitute appearance against Arsenal on Monday.

He should start - especially with doubts around the fitness of Allan - while Fabian Delph remains unlucky to miss out after a recent revival.

A midfield three would see Andros Townsend drop to the bench. He wouldn't be able to complain after a recent dip in form.

I'd play Lucas Digne too. His relationship with Rafa Benitez has soured, obviously, but you play your best players.

That would allow Ben Godfrey to move centrally and partner Michael Keane.

My team (4-3-3): Pickford; Coleman, Godfrey, Keane, Digne; Allan, Doucoure, Gomes; Gray, Richarlison, Gordon.
