The Brazilian was on Copa America duty and was given an extended break by the Blues following his exploits in helping his side in the tournament.
However, the 22-year-old returned to training at USM Finch Farm earlier this week, and has been handed his first start of pre-season as he is expected to begin the Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace next weekend.
