Digne can deputise again to help Ancelotti's biggest issue
Phil Kirkbride: The biggest issue for Ancelotti is at centre-half.
Lucas Digne has expertly deputised in the previous two rounds and can do so again here - but the temptation would be to field an XI closer to what we'd see in a Premier League game, given the opposition.
But we're all excited to see what Nkounkou can do again so Carlo should keep faith with the same back four that played against Fleetwood last week.
Delph was given a first appearance since February in that tie but perhaps he should only make the bench for this and Ancelotti should ask Abdoulaye Doucoure to anchor the midfield.
Either side of him Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bernard can create with Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Anthony Gordon - who deserves to start - the front three.
Richarlison is more than good enough to accommodate Gordon's inclusion by switching flanks and playing on the left
My team (4-3-3): Pickford; Kenny, Keane, Digne, Nkounkou; Doucoure, Sigurdsson, Bernard; Gordon, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
Ancelotti must go strong to fight for trophy chance
Chris Beesley: After starting with wholesale changes at home to League Two Salford City and then a clutch of fringe players combined with regulars in the last round at League One Fleetwood Town, Carlo Ancelotti needs to go fairly strong for the Carabao Cup tie against fellow Premier League side West Ham United.
Everton cannot afford to throw away this genuine significant chance to end the longest-running trophy drought in the club's 142-year history which now stretches back for over a quarter of a century.
The League Cup was the first piece of major silverware won in English football for both Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola and while Ancelotti of course secured a Premier League and FA Cup 'double' in his debut season at Chelsea, this represents the best opportunity for glory for a talented Blues side - especially as a win would put them just 90 minutes away from the semi-finals.
No messing about, only rest the big guns where really necessary please.
My team (4-3-3): Pickford; Kenny, Digne, Mina, Keane; Allan, Doucoure, Sigurdsson; Iwobi, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.
Changes made as exciting youngsters get opportunity
Connor O'Neill: As much as Evertonians would love to see Carlo Ancelotti name an unchanged side for tonight’s game, it is hard not to imagine changes will be made.
Just like in the previous round against Fleetwood Town, a number of the Blues’ fringe players are likely to get the chance to impress against the Hammers.
At the back, Jordan Pickford is likely to remain in goal, with Jonjoe Kenny and Niels Nkounkou coming in to form a backline alongside Michael Keane and Yerry Mina.
In midfield, Abdoulaye Doucoure should be given the nod with Gylfi Sigurdsson and Alex Iwobi in order to give the Blues some much needed steel and experience.
While up top, Moise Kean and Anthony Gordon should both be given the opportunity to impress again, with Richarlison partnering them.
My team (4-3-3): Virginia; Kenny, Mina, Keane, Nkounkou; Doucoure, Sigurdsson, Iwobi; Gordon, Kean, Richarlison.
