Everton line-ups vs Chelsea as Bernard starts and Alex Iwobi decision made

'Bernard starts and Holgate plays at right-back'

Adam Jones: The injury news just isn't getting easier for Carlo Ancelotti at the minute.

With influential players in Lucas Digne and Seamus Coleman already missing, now the manager has to cope without the creative spark of James Rodriguez.

All of this points to a change in system for me, there's no need for a three-at-the-back this time.

A 'back to basics' approach might be just what Everton need to get a result . Keep things tight at the back, put your best players together up front.

If Niels Nkounkou hasn't been playing recently then it would be strange to throw him in the deep end here, so Ben Godfrey stays at left back with Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in the middle.

Right back is really tricky, but with Kenny in a similar boat as Nkounkou, the task could fall to Mason Holgate.

A midfield four of Alex Iwobi, Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Bernard should provide a blend of defensive work and creative output.

Then Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin should reprise their strong relationship as a front two.

My team (4-4-2): Pickford; Holgate, Keane, Mina, Godfrey; Iwobi, Allan, Doucoure, Bernard; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin

'Kenny and Nkounkou start'

Chris Beesley: With one win in their last seven matches - and even that was much harder than it needed to be against a struggling Fulham side - Everton face a rather sterner challenge against the Cottagers' more illustrious neighbours, in-form Chelsea, and therefore should stick to playing the best available players in their favoured positions.

For me, the three-at-the back/wingers and midfielders in wing-back berths experiment has to end and the Blues should return to the 4-3-3 formation that was serving them well earlier in the campaign.

It's been said that Everton are labouring because they've lost their two first choice full-backs, well replace them with a couple of other full-backs instead.

My team (4-3-3) : Pickford; Kenny, Nkounkou, Holgate, Keane; Allan, Doucoure, Gomes; Iwobi, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

'Godfrey gets the nod at left-back with five in midfield'

Connor O'Neill: As Everton go in search of a first clean sheet in the league since the first game of the season, it is time for Carlo Ancelotti to go back to basics.

That will hopefully see the end of three at the back and see the Blues operate in a more traditional formation.

Jordan Pickford will no doubt start in goal, while Michael Keane should partner Yerry Mina at the heart of the defence.

Given his impressive display against Burnley last weekend, it would be no surprise to see Ben Godfrey start at left-back, and Mason Holgate could well find himself at right-back.

The midfield should be made up of Andre Gomes, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure, with Richarlison and Alex Iwobi on either flank, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top.

My team (4-5-1) : Pickford, Holgate, Keane, Mina, Godfrey, Allan, Doucoure, Gomez, Iwobi, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.
