Everton line up confirmed as Carlo Ancelotti makes two changes for Southampton

Carlo Ancelotti has made two changes to the Everton starting line-up as he looks for a reaction after the toothless display against Spurs.

As expected, Yerry Mina comes in to replace the injured Mason Holgate for tonight’s game with Southampton while Anthony Gordon is rewarded with his impact from the bench on Monday night, with a start.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, heavily criticised for his performance against Spurs - including appearing to pull out of a challenge - drops to the bench.

He is joined on the bench by the fit again Theo Walcott but, otherwise, Ancelotti has named the same matchday 19 for this evening’s clash with the Saints.

Jordan Pickford remains in goal with Seamus Coleman keeping his place at right-back.  He is joined in defence by Michael Keane, Mina and Lucas Digne.

Ancelotti looks as though he will revert to a 4-4-2 formation with Alex Iwobi on the right, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes in the middle and Gordon on the left.

Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be upfront.

Maarten Stekelenburg is the back-up goalkeeper and starts on the bench alongside Leighton Baines, Sigurdsson, Walcott, Djibril Sidibe, Moise Kean, Bernard, Jarrad Branthwaite and Beni Baningime.
