Talks are progressing between Everton and Manchester City on a deal to bring Fabian Delph to Goodison.
The 29-year-old has a year left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium but has been made available for sale by the Premier League champions.
And Everton are leading the chase for Delph's signature with negotiations between the clubs on-going.
The Blues said they would only invest heavily in players aged between 20-25/6 this summer but refused to rule out adding experience to the squad.
And Delph, the two-time Premier League title winner, has been identified as the player to add know-how to Everton's midfield.
Discussions are continuing to take place between Everton and City but there is growing confidence that a deal can be struck.
