Everton are reportedly planning an audacious move to bring Wales superstars Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey to Goodison Park this summer.
The Premier League club want to establish themselves among the very elite in the division, which could mean signing as many as seven 'top-class players' amid an enormous cash injection from owner Farhad Moshiri.
And 90min.com report that two stars close to the top of Moshiri's summer shopping list are Real Madrid star Bale and Juventus playmaker Ramsey.
It is thought the Toffees are planning to exploit the players' current situations at their clubs.
Bale's Madrid future has been in limbo since Zinedine Zidane returned as manager last year.
The Wales talisman, 30, was close to sealing a big-money move to China last summer before a last-minute U-turn from Real chiefs meant he stayed at the Bernabeu.
He has also been linked consistently with Manchester United and his former club Tottenham in recent seasons.
One obvious stumbling block are Bale's princely wages - he is said to be earning £350,000 per week in the Spanish capital.
But in a bid to ensure a deal is struck, it is claimed the La Liga giants will allow him to leave on loan, on the proviso that Everton pay a big chunk of his wages.
Manchester United are still thought to be monitoring Bale's situation.
Ramsey, meanwhile, moved to Turin only last summer on a free transfer after his Arsenal contract came to an end.
The midfielder, 29, endured some injury trouble during the start of his time at Juve, but he has impressed recently and scored in each of his last two league games.
However, it is thought the financial hit caused by the coronavirus crisis will take a massive toll on Juventus, with Italian newspaper Il Messagero claiming they might even have to sell top earner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, Ramsey and the rest of their Juventus team-mates, as well as manager Maurizio Sarri, have pledged to waive four months of wages to ensure the club stand the best chance of navigating these uncertain waters.
Ramsey is Juventus' second-highest earner on a reported £400,000 a week.
It is thought Everton will use the Juventus situation to try to lure him back to the UK as Carlo Ancelotti looks to mount a real charge for the Premier League title next term.
