Everton land new commercial deal to target major market

Everton have added another commercial partner as they target growth in the Asian market.

The Blues have inked a partnership with betting firm i8.BET who will become the club's official betting partner in Asia, with the firm planning to expand their platform in the region.

The deal will see i8.BET branding appear around Goodison Park, with the firm having access to player imagery for commercial purposes, while the betting company will use Everton's name and brand extensively across the region as part of its marketing strategy.

Darren Wang, CMO at i8.BET, said: "In line with our global tagline of 'choose the best', we are excited to exclusively partner with such an iconic Premier League team as Everton Football Club; a partnership that will see us working with the club on a number of exciting and innovative initiatives and promotions in key brand territories in support of our ongoing brand expansion and trust building efforts."

Everton have a strong association with Asia through commercial partnerships, with the club having had front of shirt sponsors such as Chinese telecommunications firm Kejian and beer company Chang in the past.

The club have also recently worked with Thread Sports to increase their visibility with the Asian market through increased social media presence.

Last year Everton entered into a commercial agreement with Rushbet.co, a Colombian betting firm, with the company to become the club's official betting partner in the country.

It was an agreement that built on the link between Everton and the South American country that had been born from Colombian internationals Yerry Mina and the now departed James Rodriguez being part of the playing squad at Goodison Park.

The deal with i8.BET adds to commercial deals with Cazoo, Hummel, Clarity Sports, USM Holdings, MegaFon, Parimatch, eToro, Fanatics, Socios, Fratelli Beretta, Davanti Tyres, Monster Energy, Lucozade, Rushbet and Carling.
