Everton 'keen' on deal for Napoli forward as club look to use agent connections

Napoli winger Hirving Lozano could be a winter transfer target for Everton, according to reports.

The 27-year-old Mexican international is currently frustrated by a lack of game time at his Serie A club, leading to reports that he will look to make a move away from Gli Azzurri when the January transfer window opens. According to Marca, four clubs are interested in the player nicknamed 'Chucky'.

Manchester United, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are three of the clubs mentioned, but Frank Lampard's side is the other. Lozano still has two years left on his Napoli contract and it is believed that any move away would likely cost Everton around £26.8milllion (€30milllion).

The former PSV Eindhoven star is considered a hero of the Mexican national team, having scored 16 goals in 59 appearances for his country. He also found the net 40 times over two seasons in Dutch football before making a €42 million move to Italy, signing a five-year contract with Napoli.

Lozano has 26 goals in 121 appearances for Luciano Spalletti's side but only managed six last season and has seen his opportunities limited this campaign. Everton are still in need of further attacking reinforcements after Brazilian Richarlison joined Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

The Blues' Director of Football Kevin Thelwell is believed to be keen on doing a deal for Lozano, who has the same agent as Everton forward Anthony Gordon, something that could be used as leverage when it comes to fending off competition from other clubs for the Mexican's signature.
