Everton injury scare after Lucas Digne misses his country's Euro 2020 win

Everton have been handed an injury scare after left-back Lucas Digne limped out of France's final training session before their Euro 2020 victory over Moldova last night.

The 25-year-old was denied his 24th international cap when he pulled up in pain during the final tactical session on Thursday, holding his left thigh, and did not complete the session.

Digne had been expected to start in Chisinau, but the injury allowed PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa to step in for the 4-1 win.

There has been no update from the French physio team but Digne is still with the squad and Everton will be eagerly awaiting to see whether the defender is included in the squad to face Iceland on Monday.

Everton go to West Ham next Saturday. Digne has been almost ever present since he made his full debut against Rotherham in August, sitting out the FA Cup victory over Lincoln and suspended for the defeat by Wolves.

Leighton Baines was back on the subs bench for Sunday's visit of Chelsea after missing five matches with a rib injury.
