Everton individual plans for self-isolation as Blues lockdown continues

Everton's players have been given individual fitness programmes to work through while they remain away from Finch Farm.

The Premier League is suspended until April 3 following the outbreak of the coronavirus and a meeting of all 20 clubs on Thursday will discuss the next steps.

Today's ruling by UEFA, to postpone this summer's European Championships for 12 months, has presented the league with a potential window in which to complete the remaining matches but such a scenario will be debated, over the phone, later this week.

Everton will, once again, be represented at the meeting by chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale.

The Blues took the decision to send their players, coaches and staff into self-isolation on Friday and, in the process, shut down their Finch Farm training ground and offices at the Royal Liver Building and at Goodison.

They remain in lockdown as the club awaits any outcome of Thursday's Premier League meeting and the next update from the government.

In the meantime, the Everton squad have been given programmes to undertake in order to maintain their fitness levels ahead of the proposed return to action at the start of next month.

Head of Therapy Services, Dan Donachie is understood to be co-ordinating the players' workloads whilst they are away from the club and monitoring the squad with help from the rest of the medical team.

Everton, who had been scheduled to face Liverpool last night, were due to be handed some rest days by manager Carlo Ancelotti with no game planned for the coming weekend and they may have been incorporated into the individual programmes while the squad remain away from Finch Farm.
